Facilitated Replication
Promising Practices are implemented in one or two additional facilities with training and project management support through a six to nine-month process.

HAPPEN
The Diffusion of Excellence Program
advances Promising Practices that improve Veteran care such as Hospital-Acquired
Pneumonia Prevention by Engaging Nurses (HAPPEN), an initiative
that is leveraging a simple, low-cost, low-risk intervention to reduce the risk of
hospital-acquired pneumonia.
National Organization for NV-HAP Prevention
VHA is collaborating with a network of health care leaders to advance a national research agenda and develop policies to combat non-ventilator associated pneumonia through the National Organization for NV-HAP Prevention (NOHAP).

VHA Diffusion of Excellence Playbook
Since 2016,
Diffusion of Excellence has been on a journey to develop repeatable, inclusive
frameworks that enable practices, developed by VHA frontline employees, to obtain
recognition and broader impact. The Diffusion of Excellence Playbook provides a “bread-crumb
trail” to how Diffusion fosters identifies, replicates, and scales Promising Practices.
